Birth Care<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-layout-flex wp-container-core-list-is-layout-fe9cc265 wp-block-list-is-layout-flex\" style=\"\">\n<li><strong>On-call availability 24\/7 beginning at 37 weeks gestation<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Continuous presence during active labor and birth<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-home evaluation during onset of active labor, as indicated<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full clinical monitoring and support throughout labor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Immediate postpartum care following birth (typically several hours in your home)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"postpartum-care\"><strong>Postpartum Care<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-layout-flex wp-container-core-list-is-layout-fe9cc265 wp-block-list-is-layout-flex\" style=\"\">\n<li>\n<strong>Multiple postpartum visits<\/strong>, 60 to 90 minutes each, including at:<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-layout-flex wp-container-core-list-is-layout-fe9cc265 wp-block-list-is-layout-flex\" style=\"\">\n<li>24 hours (in-home)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>48 hours (in-home)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 week (in-home)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 weeks (in-home or office)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 month (office)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6&ndash;8 weeks (office)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ongoing assessment of both&nbsp;<strong>maternal recovery and newborn well-being<\/strong>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Feeding and lactation support<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continued access to care and guidance during the postpartum period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"additional-support\"><strong>Additional Support<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-layout-flex wp-container-core-list-is-layout-fe9cc265 wp-block-list-is-layout-flex\" style=\"\">\n<li>Access to&nbsp;<strong>wellness spaces<\/strong>&nbsp;(meditation and art therapy rooms) through one year postpartum<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to my lending library of items and equipment to use for your birth. I have water birth equipment, a birth sling, tens units, heating pads for labor, and more. It&#8217;s all at your fingertips to optimize your birth experience. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communication access for questions, concerns, and guidance throughout care<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I file your baby&rsquo;s birth certificate with the state of Kansas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I collect the newborn blood spot test and send it to the state lab so that your baby can be screened for a large number of congenital metabolic disorders shortly after birth. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We perform a newborn hearing screening on your baby at birth, per state recommendations. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your care fee includes a Vitamin K injection at birth for your baby, if you choose. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-is-not-included\"><strong>What is Not Included<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The following are&nbsp;<strong>not<\/strong>&nbsp;included in the global fee:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-layout-flex wp-container-core-list-is-layout-fe9cc265 wp-block-list-is-layout-flex\" style=\"\">\n<li>\n<strong>Laboratory processing fees<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; billed directly through Path Group. Cash prices are low and very reasonable. If you have insurance, Path Group can usually file it directly. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n<strong>Ultrasound and imaging costs<\/strong>&nbsp;-Cypress Imaging accepts most insurance plans and has a cash pay price for uninsured clients. The cost of imaging is not included in your midwifery care. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The cost of <strong>Medications and prescriptions<\/strong>, including items such as&nbsp;<strong>Rhogam<\/strong>, if indicated. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any&nbsp;<strong>hospital-based care<\/strong>&nbsp;or services outside the midwifery scope<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Primary medical care for your general, non-pregnancy related health needs&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Well newborn checks outside of general screenings offered at birth, 24 hours, and 48 hours of life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"new-patient-fee\"><strong>New Patient Fee<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;<strong>$200 non-refundable New Patient Fee<\/strong>&nbsp;is required at or before your first visit in order to reserve your place in care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This fee is&nbsp;included in the total fee of $5,700. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The New Patient Fee covers one-time expenses associated with initiating your care, including:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-layout-flex wp-container-core-list-is-layout-fe9cc265 wp-block-list-is-layout-flex\" style=\"\">\n<li>Creation and setup of your&nbsp;<strong>medical chart and records<\/strong>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n<strong>Lab draw supplies<\/strong>&nbsp;used throughout your pregnancy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disposable clinical materials specific to your care during your pregnancy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disposable single use items specific to your care during birth <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Because Lux Midwifery accepts a&nbsp;<strong>limited number of clients per month<\/strong>, this fee secures your place in care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This fee is&nbsp;<strong>non-refundable<\/strong>, as these resources are routinely ordered in bulk and allocated specifically to established clients once care is initiated.<\/p>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"payment-plans\"><strong>Insurance plans<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Lux Midwifery is a self-pay, independent model of care and does not bill insurance directly. Home birth midwifery care is not typically covered by insurance in Kansas, though coverage and reimbursement can vary. Many families are able to use HSA or FSA funds toward eligible expenses, and we can provide documentation for reimbursement or out-of-network submission when needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Labs and ultrasounds are arranged through trusted outside providers and billed separately. Those services may be covered by your insurance depending on your specific plan, and any costs not covered are the responsibility of the client.<\/p>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"payment-plans\"><strong>Payment Plans<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Payment plans are available and may be structured in&nbsp;<strong>increments of your choosing<\/strong>, as long as the full balance is paid within the required timeframe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you choose to use a payment plan, you will be required to&nbsp;<strong>complete and sign a payment plan agreement form<\/strong>&nbsp;outlining your payment schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"payment-timeline\"><strong>Payment Timeline<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The remaining balance must be&nbsp;<strong>paid in full by 36 weeks gestation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This ensures that I am able to be&nbsp;<strong>on call for your birth beginning at 37 weeks (full term)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your balance is not paid in full by this time:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-layout-flex wp-container-core-list-is-layout-fe9cc265 wp-block-list-is-layout-flex\" style=\"\">\n<li>I may, at my discretion, continue to provide&nbsp;<strong>prenatal care through the end of your pregnancy,&nbsp;<\/strong>or I may refer you to another local prenatal care provider who is available to see you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I will assist with&nbsp;<strong>coordination of transfer of your records<\/strong>&nbsp;to your clinical care provider of choice. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your care will be transferred to the clinician of your choice.They will assume care and&nbsp;<strong>attend your birth.<\/strong>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you anticipate difficulty meeting this timeline, please reach out early so we can discuss options.<\/p>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"late-entry-to-care\"><strong>Late Entry to Care<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>While Lux Midwifery is designed for clients who begin care early in pregnancy, I may be able to accept clients later in pregnancy when availability allows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are seeking a late transfer, I encourage you to reach out. I understand that finding the right team to care for you during pregnancy and birth can feel stressful, and when space is available, I am happy to consider whether I can offer care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Late transfer clients should note:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-layout-flex wp-container-core-list-is-layout-fe9cc265 wp-block-list-is-layout-flex\" style=\"\">\n<li>The full patient fee still applies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multiple prenatal visits are required prior to birth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete prenatal records from previous providers must be received and reviewed before acceptance into care<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This process allows me to safely:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-layout-flex wp-container-core-list-is-layout-fe9cc265 wp-block-list-is-layout-flex\" style=\"\">\n<li>Review your medical and prenatal history<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assess your current health and any risk factors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create an appropriate care plan for the remainder of your pregnancy and birth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Late transfer acceptance is limited based on space, timing, and clinical appropriateness.<\/p>\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"transfer-of-care-refunds\"><strong>Transfer of Care &amp;
