Home Birth Midwifery Care<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lux Midwifery provides comprehensive, relationship-centered care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. We serve the Wichita metropolitan area, Topeka, Emporia, and other areas between Lawrence and Wichita. <\/em><\/strong>Care is provided by Sapphire Garcia<\/strong> in partnership with Melinda Lavon, PhD, CPM of Bloom Midwifery<\/strong>, meaning families are supported by two midwives<\/em><\/strong> throughout their care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This model allows for attentive, personalized care that prioritizes both safety and experience.<\/p>\n\n\n

Cost of Care<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The total cost of your care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum is a flat $5,700.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This fee reflects comprehensive, relationship-based care throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period, including extended time, availability, and continuity of care.<\/p>\n\n\n

What is Included<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Personalized care from pregnancy through birth and postpartum is included in your cost of care. <\/p>\n\n\n

Prenatal Care<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n

  • Approximately 18–21 prenatal visits<\/strong>, totaling around 20 hours of face-to-face prenatal care<\/strong>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • A 2-hour initial intake visit<\/strong>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Ongoing visits (typically 60–90 minutes each)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Review and interpretation of all labs and imaging<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • \nCare coordination<\/strong>, including referrals and communication with other providers when needed<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Ongoing clinical assessment, education, and support<\/strong> throughout pregnancy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n
    Labor & Birth Care<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n

    • On-call availability 24\/7 beginning at 37 weeks gestation<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Continuous presence during active labor and birth<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • In-home evaluation during onset of active labor, as indicated<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Full clinical monitoring and support throughout labor<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Immediate postpartum care following birth (typically several hours in your home)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n
      Postpartum Care<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n

      • \nMultiple postpartum visits<\/strong>, 60 to 90 minutes each, including at:

        • 24 hours (in-home)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • 48 hours (in-home)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • 1 week (in-home)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • 2 weeks (in-home or office)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • 1 month (office)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • 6–8 weeks (office)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Ongoing assessment of both maternal recovery and newborn well-being<\/strong>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Feeding and lactation support<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Continued access to care and guidance during the postpartum period<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n
          Additional Support<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n

          • Access to wellness spaces<\/strong> (meditation and art therapy rooms) through one year postpartum<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Access to my lending library of items and equipment to use for your birth. I have water birth equipment, a birth sling, tens units, heating pads for labor, and more. It’s all at your fingertips to optimize your birth experience. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Communication access for questions, concerns, and guidance throughout care<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • I file your baby’s birth certificate with the state of Kansas<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • I collect the newborn blood spot test and send it to the state lab so that your baby can be screened for a large number of congenital metabolic disorders shortly after birth. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • We perform a newborn hearing screening on your baby at birth, per state recommendations. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Your care fee includes a Vitamin K injection at birth for your baby, if you choose. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n
